On 07 February 1970, the 2nd Home Defense Affairs Unit was activated with Headquarters located at Camp Vicente Lim, Canlubang, Laguna.
On September 1970, its headquarters was transferred to Camp Capinpin, Tanay, Rizal and later it was redesignated as 2nd Home Defense Unit under 2nd Infantry Brigade (SEP).
